Web page content that informs and persuades

Your Web site is an invaluable communication tool. The Web content you provide can build relationships with potential donors, "sell" your programs, and persuade people to change their behavior in at least some small way.
 
Having a Web site does not, however, mean that your organization has an effective online presence.
 
For example - Consider donation pages for a second. Will I be able to tell at a glance how to donate to your organization? Is it obvious what benefit I would get by donating? The benefit could be intangible - I feel good about helping local kids who are likely to drop out of school - or a tangible irtem like a book.
 
Is your Web content working hard enough? Are your Web pages generating any donations, sales, or memberships?
 
While Web content is important, persuasive web content is critical to success.
Regardless of the goals you've set for your Web site it must do more than inform or ask for money. 
 
If your organization relies on earned income, and has Web pages devoted to selling theings, then effective Web content is even more important.
